Ocean Adventure, Philippines
In December 2008 and January 2009, a total of 18 dolphins were exported from the Solomon Islands to the Philippines to be trained before being re-exported to Resorts World, Singapore.
After the imports took place, the Philippines CITES Scientific Authority declared the imports to be illegal because of the inadequate non-detriment finding of the Solomon Islands.
At the same time, the dolphin imports were not accompanied by veterinary/phytosanitary certificates, a requirement by Philippine law.
Ocean Adventure Park offers dolphin and sealion shows, various dolphin interaction programs, an Animal Trainer Adventure and diving with captive false killer whales and dolphins.
